General:

PAI Corporation (PAI) provided the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Nevada Operations Office (NV) with technical and management support of programs and projects under the cognizance of the Emergency Management Division (EMD). This support included efforts and assistance to EMD in executing its functions and meeting its responsibilities in the areas of emergency management, intelligence and national level response programs, and occurrence reporting and performance indicator programs.

24-Hour Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for NNSA/NV

PAI provides full-staffing operation of the EOC for the following areas: initial activation and support, occurrence reporting, Open Skies Treaty and Chemical Weapons Convention Response plans, hazardous material tracking, NNSA/NV Federal Radiological Monitoring and Assessment Center (FRMAC), NNSA/NV Radiological Assistance Team notification, Nuclear Emergency Search Team, Accident Response Group, National Warning System, and emergency response. Performance Indicator Program Support at the Nevada Occurrence and Reporting Systems Operations Center

PAI analyzed Performance Indicator Program data for trends and uploaded it to the Performance Indicator Data System host computer. The analyzed data and narrative were then sent to Oak Ridge National Laboratory for inclusion in DOE Headquarters (HQ), Office of Defense Programs, and Environmental Management reports. EOC Activation and Support for NNSA/NV

PAI provided communication, equipment, and reporting support until NNSA/NV personnel arrived on the scene. PAI also updated the EOC Initial Activation Procedures Manual on a semiannual basis and conducted monthly practice recalls/alerts. BACK TO MENU

 
Technical Review and Edit of NNSA/NV Internal Emergency Management Plan

PAI performed a technical review and edit of the Internal Emergency Management Plan, including cross-referencing applicable regulations and procedures with the proposed plan to ensure compliance. BACK TO MENU

 
Emergency Management for the NASA/Ames Research Center (ARC)

PAI provides 24-hour emergency response coverage for ARC. PAI develops safety plans for Hazmat incident response, participates in emergency preparedness planning activities, provides training, supervises drills, fulfills all reporting requirements, and analyzes and recommends corrective actions to any incidents.  BACK TO MENU

 
Emergency Preparedness Program Support for DOE/Oakland Operations Office (OAK)

PAI provided Emergency Preparedness Program support, including reviewing facility safety plans and reports, developing scenarios and assisting in the conduct of emergency response exercises, assisting in the design of EOCs, and evaluating EOC equipment. BACK TO MENU

 
Occurrence Reporting per DOE Order 232.1A for NNSA/NV

PAI performed reporting and trending and analysis of the occurrences for all of NNSA/NV in accordance with DOE Order 232.1A. Trending and analysis data were compiled in a quarterly report that was distributed to DOE/HQ, NNSA/NV staff, and contractors. BACK TO MENU
