Fire Protection Programmatic Support at the Pantex Plant, Amarillo, TX

PAI has prepared more than 400 FAs, FHAs, and fire analyses for the Pantex Plants:
  

Performing fire protection facility assessments (FAs), including evaluating facility construction, fire hazards, fire barrier design, life safety features, and fire protection system features.

Designing replacement fire alarm control panels and upgrades to the fire alarm systems in 12 buildings.

Performing hydraulic modeling to evaluate water flow characteristics.

Performing quantitative fire modeling and analysis to determine the effects of fire scenarios.

Preparing engineering design documents, including building and system drawings.

Performing comprehensive FHAs that evaluate fire areas construction, water supply and distribution systems, automatic and manual suppression systems, fire alarm systems, life safety features, and emergency planning adequacy.

Preparing acceptance test procedures for fire suppression systems.

Fire Protection for the NASA/Ames Research Center (ARC)

PAI is responsible for all fire-related issues at ARC, which includes monitoring fire system maintenance, including alarm systems and fire suppression systems; reviewing and approving new construction and modifications for fire safety; performing audits for compliance with the Uniform Fire Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, Uniform Building Code, and OSHA standards; providing fire extinguisher equipment; and performing fire prevention/protection training.  BACK TO MENU
 
Fire Protection Engineering Services for Sandia National Laboratories (SNL)

PAI performed FAs for nine buildings and a mobile trailer complex. PAI reviewed the sprinkler system and fire alarm system drawings, verified hydraulic calculations, and conducted installation walkthrough inspections. PAI also prepared standard master specifications for the automatic sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and chemical storage sheds.  BACK TO MENU
 
Fire Protection Assessments at the DOE Y-12 Plant

PAI conducted FAs for 181 facilities at the Y-12 Plant. Each facility was evaluated for compliance with DOE Order(s) and NFPA standards. Where deficiencies were identified, PAI recommended corrective actions.  BACK TO MENU
 
Fire Protection Assessments at East Tennessee Technology Park

PAI performed FAs, reviewed the status of previous findings, and recommended corrective actions for new findings. PAI also reviewed engineering drawings of sprinkler system modifications and assisted in performing an acceptance test.  BACK TO MENU
 
Fire Protection and Life Safety Surveys for the Federal Bureau of Prisons

PAI performed fire protection and life safety surveys at 20 prisons throughout the United States. The surveys included evaluation of the fire protection systems, fire protection features, life safety features, water supply, and fire protection emergency procedures.
