Operational Assessments of Manufacturing Facilities at SRS

CM Upgrade Support to ORNL

PAI personnel reviewed drawings and design specifications at REDC and identified discrepancies with the then-current physical configuration. Review of Systems Engineering Approach at the DOE Hanford Site

PAI reviewed the management and operating contractor's sitewide and programmatic systems engineering approach. This quick-turnaround effort included an analysis of systems engineering and configuration management plans and techniques.  BACK TO MENU

 
Restart Activities at the Y-12 Plant

PAI assisted in the technical review of the design and operation of the Y-12 restart effort. PAI also assisted in the development of a new guidance manual for radiological facility restart. BACK TO MENU

 
Procedures Update for the Radiochemical Engineering Development Center (REDC) at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)

PAI reviewed existing operating procedures for safety, completeness, and continuity, and updated the procedures. PAI then inter-viewed REDC personnel to identify undocumented procedures, which were later prepared in accordance with the standard format. Within 4 months, a total of 166 procedures were updated or prepared.  BACK TO MENU

 
Configuration Management (CM) Program at the DOE Savannah River Site (SRS)

PAI reviewed the Separations CM program, including a comparison with the Reactor CM program, DOE Orders, and the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations Good Practices Standard. Following the review, PAI developed a CM guidance document and performed an in-depth evaluation of the program.  BACK TO MENU

 
Conduct of Operations and Operational Safety Reviews for the Energy Technology Engineering Center (ETEC)

PAI assessed the conduct of operations at the ETEC against the elements of DOE Order 5480.19 by reviewing facility procedures, interviewing facility personnel, and conducting facility walkthroughs. Recommendations were made in each functional area. PAI also assisted the Environment, Safety and Facility Operations Division by performing walkdowns and inspections of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) buildings, reviewing LLNL operational safety procedures, and appraising site construction safety.  BACK TO MENU

 
Property Management for the Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project (WSSRAP)

PAI provides property management services associated with the environmental restoration of the DOE Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act site at Weldon Spring, Missouri. PAI oversees DOE equipment and property utilized by the project management contractor as well as DOE personnel.
